The fusion of music and visuals
As books are meant to be read, music is made to be listened to. When music performance come together with visualizations, the audience experience is complete. This year all the visuals at Wilsonic are made by the best VJs around – 4youreye, sound:frame and eye|con.tv crews will make sure the fusion of sound and visuals is outstanding.
4youreye / AT
The Viennese crew 4youreye started VJing back in the early 1990s, and made their fame in both their home country as well as abroad. The 2 person crew take old images and put then into a completely new context, thus creating the a unique visual experience of constantly changing picture collages.
A combination of photos, computer images, TV samples and visuals set to music in real time make their work unique and the experience inimitable. Aesthetically, 4youreye relate non-linear, expansive concepts of abstract Art films of the 1920’s, the literary and political cut-up and collage technique of the experimental films from the 1950’s and 60’s, the complete concept of the happening art and rock concerts of the 1970’s, and the live concept of the video scratchers of the 1980’s.

Eva Fischer aka e:v/a is a natural born visualist. During her academic years as a contemporary art history major she was immediately drawn to the club scene – its sound, its visuals, its packed floors – Soon after Eva became fascinated with the overwhelming sensory effects prompted by the fusion of sound and visual. Her dream to participate as an active member in this scene finally gave birth to sound:frame. As the founder, curator, and host of the Viennese sound:frame Festival she enjoys the infinite seeming plurality of creative endeavors and eagerly awaits the results and reactions of each year’s festival.
e:v/a loves visualizing music that she enjoys and her first aim is to combine her visuals with the sound as precisely as possible. Her visuals are seductive that prompt you to dive into both foreign and known worlds simultaneously. You may laugh, you may be touched, you will enjoy. e:v/a plays with her pictures. She gets them from all possible media and puts them into totally new contexts. In this way, she is telling stories… stories that have neither beginning nor end…
Novemba & Pixkompressor (eye|con.tv / AT)
Her obsession of visuals began 10 years ago, when Novemba began taking pictures in the street. With her growing interest in visualisation, she started VJing as VJane in Viennese clubs, then gradually moved to the best locations in the city, such as Flex or Wuk. Nowemba is well known for her works that are made of cross-developed animated pictures, combined with her own texts and poetry. Besides this, her eye|con.tv is rep’d at Wilsonic by Pixkompressor.
