Wilsonic Festival 2009 is just around the corner!
The upcoming edition of Wilsonic Festival is fast-approaching and all signs indicate that this year will transcend all the rest! Make a note in your calendar and head to Bratislava, Slovakia for the second weekend of June!
From Thursday 11. 6. to Saturday 13. 6, Wilsonic spans across three days of forward-thinking music, supported by an international crowd in a booming city atmosphere. Be prepared for a spectacular combination of live music and DJ performances!
Taking place at the newly built city beach close to Danube river bank, Wilsonic is shaping up not only as a great start to the festival season, but surely a highlight of the summer! With three stages under the shelter of high-capacity tents and one open-air stage Wilsonic is a unique outdoor festival experience, with the comfort of an urban environment.
The festival program consists of a healthy, well-balanced dose of up-and-coming regional artists, best new international acts as well as the audience-demanded global names.
We are proud to welcome the German Jazzanova, who will present, for the first time, their music live as a proper band. Other highlights this year include Junior Boys from Canada, Moderat – a cooperation of Modeselektor, Apparat and Pfandfinderei, German DJ and producer Henrik Schwarz, Kelley Polar among many others.
As stated in the ”Reflecting Future” headline, Wilsonic seeks to expose emerging talent in forward-thinking music. We are actively searching the most unique purveyors of contemporary sound for the purpose of pushing both innovation as well as quality in music. This year Akira, Daj Ray, Hyperpotamomus, and others will come to share the stage with their critically acclaimed, international counterparts.
The Wilsonic festival serves as a platform for Central and Eastern European artists to expose their sound to a wider audience. With this in mind, Thursday, 11 June, as a part of MyCity international project, Wilsonic introduces a new component to the festival: Wilsonic Showcases.
Wilsonic Showcases will work as a new tool dedicated to showcasing emerging talent and export-ready acts from the CEE region to an audience comprised of music enthusiasts and professionals alike. This year Wilsonic Showcases’ focus is on Hungary. Come and check the new festival area before the grand opening. On Thursday it’s free.
